HONEYSUCKLE BARN

Honeysuckle Barn is a recently lovingly restored barn, which offers a unique combination of bed and breakfast providing a continental breakfast on a self-catering basis. It is situated in a rural location between Rowe’s Farmhouse and Rowe’s Farm.

From the courtyard parking shared with the adjacent farmhouse and red brick barn, which is the Renewal Centre, you walk to the front door, which opens onto a hallway and pine staircase to the first floor. You can catch a glimpse of the kitchenette, which offers a fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster and George Foreman grill for guests to prepare snack meals, as well as breakfast.

There is a choice of 6 cereals and several juices and breads or croissants. Home made preserves, breakfast and herbal teas, hot chocolate and organic granulated coffee/decaffeinated will be found in the breakfast cupboard. White china and quality stainless steel cutlery, pebble style table mats and trays are available for guests to choose whether they would like to eat communally in the small room upstairs, or in their separate bedrooms with a breakfast bar and two stools.

Each of the 4 ground floor bedrooms offers a combination of single, twin or double. One is designed for ambulant disability. A TV, cloth cupboard, comfy chair and folding chair is provided. Leading off each bedroom is an ensuite shower room with washhandbasin, dual flush wc, extractor fan and heated towel rail.

All the beds are Relyon comfort with quality duvets, linen and towels. A soft goosedown pillow and fibre pillow head each bed and the duvet offers 3 weights for choice during the seasons. There is also a mocha cotton honeycomb blanket/bedspread.  Surecare sensitive laundering - non-allergenic, non-perfumed.

The lounge upstairs provides a Freeview digital TV with large screen and seating for 4, with the space to add another 4 chairs if needed. The lighting can be dimmed. The view is across countryside and the nextdoor farm cottages, beside the country road leading from Swallowfield to Farley Hill. There is also a small room where guests can eat, study or meet.

The barn has underfloor central heating on the ground floor, with additional heaters and fans if needed, and radiators upstairs.

The George & Dragon pub diagonally across the road has a reputation for gourmet food and is very popular so booking is advised if you wish to be assured of a table. There are pubs in every village nearby which all provide food.

Long term stays are very welcome and a 10% discount is offered to those who stay for 4 or more days in any one week.
